Guangxi Academy of Building Research and Design founded in 1958, is the early provincial level building research and design department in China. The business scope includes: Building project reconnaissance, planning and design (Ministry of Construction P.R.China, Grade A); Project consultation (National Development and Reform Commission, Grade A); Building intelligence specific design (Ministry of Construction P.R.China, Grade A); Building project consultant (Ministry of Construction P.R.China, Grade A); Engineering construction (Second class of municipality, contains decoration, prestressed specific technology and ground foundation); New building material design (Ministry of Construction P.R.China, grade B); Engineering construction inviting and tendering (Grade B); Real estate development; Building structure reinforcement design and construction; Ground foundation technology and Prestressed specific technology; The construction drawing design document examination of Class A building construction project (contains ultra limit); Construction information retrieval consultation and so on. Moreover, GAR also got the ISO9001 Quality Management System Certificate in 2000.

    Since the foundation of GAR in 1958, it has been 47 years. Especially since the scientific research system reform, we persisted in taking the science and technology as the forerunner, design as the principal work, other works develop simultaneously and well coordinated to the new pattern, explore and develop continuously and improve the market competition. Over these years, GAR undertook more than 100 scientific research topics to do the experimental study which issued by national or local department, and also got more than 50 projects encourage and reward from the national or local department for the House Integral Moving, Shaped Frame Column Structure and so on. In engineering reconnaissance and design aspect, GAR undertook and completed more than 3,000 projects for every levels and types of building project design and reconnaissance. In recent years, over 20 projects obtained the municipality excellent project reconnaissance and design prize. Moreover, we pay attention to unite scientific research and design in our works. In engineering design project, we researched and adopted the new technology and material which originated in People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, such as the No-bonded Prestress, Light Weight Wall Panel, Composite Pile Foundation, and Concrete Small Block, etc. In project consultant, decoration design and other aspects, GAR also got the rapid progress and obtained the gratifying result in recent years. In 2004, GAR got the honorary title of Top-notch National Interior Design Enterprise. The Project Construction Consultant Company was assessed as the National Project Consultant Model Unit in 1999 and 2004.
